UFO-Drone Nearly Causes Air Disaster In Denver 2012

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a mystery in the sky. A mysterious object flying over Denver nearly caused a mid-air collision Monday evening. As far as investigators know, the mystery object did not show up on radar Monday. Investigators believe this object, whatever it is, could pose a serious safety hazard to planes. Radio transmissions from LiveATC.com confirm a nervous-sounding pilot reported a strange object at 5:17 pm Monday. The pilot is heard telling air traffic control: “A remote controlled aircraft, or what? Something just went by the other way … About 20 to 30 seconds ago. It was like a large remote-controlled aircraft. The corporate jet, a Cessna Citation 525 CJ1, was flying at 8000 feet above sea level over Cherry Creek when the mystery object came close enough to make any pilot nervous. “That’s an issue because now we have something in controlled airspace that poses a danger,” Former NTSB Investigator and 9NEWS Aviation Analyst Greg Feith said. “Was this an unmanned vehicle that was part of some sort of law enforcement operation? Was this somebody that had flown a large model aircraft inadvertently into the airspace? Or was it just [a bird that] caught the pilot’s eye so he believed it was an aircraft but could have been a very large wing span bird,” Feith said. Any one of those things can be catastrophic if it collides with an airplane. Three years ago, a bird strike took down a commercial airliner that managed to land safely in the

Sig 1/4 Quarter Scale Piper Cub J-3 R/C Model Airplane Saito Futaba IMAA AMA

This is the biggest, best and favorite R/C airplane I’ve ever built. The Sig 1/4 scale Cub kit is a LOT of work. No two ways about it. But, the finished model is outstanding! I took my time building this aircraft and added lots of scale details. I’m using a standard Saito 1.20 for power. Its installed inverted and seems quite happy that way. The radio system is a Futaba PCM with quarter scale servos on the stab and rudder. Its covered with 21st Century Coverite. Very scale finish. Thank you Sig for such a beautiful kit! Yes, there are ARF 1/4 scale Cubs out there, but you know the old saying, “If you didn’t build it with your own hands, it’s not really yours.”

200mph RC plane spins prop at over 30000 RPMs

The very fast pylon racer RC plane I featured a few months back returned to the field last weekend and I captured some more video of it. Top speed is around 320kph but on this run I think the engine was a little rich. Still pretty impressive (and really loud) though. Oh, and the glorious smell of castor oil — you just don’t get that with electric models. The smell of burnt wiring, melting ESCs and venting lipos is really not the same! 30000+ RPMs — so sweet!

(corrected) Build video: The $10 RC nitro plane made from coreflute (part 1)

Here’s the first part of the build video for the Cox nitro-powered RC model bi-plane I’ve featured in previous videos (this is the corrected version of part 1) You’ll need: 1/8″ (3.2mm) coreflute a sharpie scissors a modeling knife a ruler a tape measure some thin piano wire pliers a hot glue gun (and glue sticks) Using the instructions in this series of build videos you can create your own radio controlled model biplane that is fast, aerobatic, super-tough and fun to fly. Total build time is as little as 20 minutes — although it takes longer when you’re explaining how to do it. Part 2 coming soon (help, I need a faster computer for video-editing! :-)
